Herman A. Boyd, age 89 of Sand Springs, passed from this life Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home. Herman was born on April 18, 1928 in Wetumka to Willie and Grace (Lair) Boyd.

He attended school in Wetumka and married Augusteen (Teen) Stuckey on December 24, 1948 in Wetumka. The couple moved to Sand Springs and four years later Herman enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War and after his honorable discharge, Herman worked various jobs as a welder, inspector and Shop Supervisor until he retired at age 80. The couple were active members for over fifty years at First Assembly of God Church in Sand Springs where he served as an usher. He loved reading his bible, carpentry, wood working, building cabinets, and hanging pre-hung doors.

He is survived by wife, a daughter and husband, two sisters and husband, four great-grandchildren.

Herman was preceded in death by parents, infant son, sister; Effie Fisher, brothers; Roland, Arvil, Pete Boyd and grandson Gregory Michael Hendricks.

Celebration of life services will be Thursday, 1:00 p.m., March 1, 2018 at Broadway Baptist Church with Reverends Ron Newberry and Claude Butler officiating. Herman will be laid to rest at Wetumka City Cemetery.
