Andy Allen Ames, 61, Nixa, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003 in his home. He was born Dec. 13, 1941 in Wautoma, Wisc., the son of Oliver and Doris (Hadle) Ames. Ames moved to the Ozarks in 1977. He was a truck driver and carpenter. He love to read, fish and enjoyed walking his dog. He was a loving father and a hard worker. He was always there for his family and friends, and was the type of guy who would do anything he could to help others. Survivors include one daughter, Beth Murphy, Omaha, Ark.; one son Andrew Ames, Nixa; five grandchildren, Miranda Krahn, Jinnifer Stonestrum, James Kohlbeck, Drew Ames, and Haley Ames; two great-grandchildren, Trevor and Devon Krahn; four sisters, Arlene Groven, Madge Shultz, Belva Grunson, JoAnn Phillips; and one brother, Larry Ames. A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. May 29 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Ronald Blakey officiating.
