Bock, Gloria Dianne (Novy)
Age 75, of Carbon Hill, IL, formerly of Wilmington, IL, and Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Friday, March 30, 2007 at Walnut Grove Nursing Home in Morris, IL. Gloria was born December 26, 1931 in Braidwood, IL to the late Gustave E. and Hilda C. (Kvalvik) Novy. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington. Gloria enjoyed photography, gardening, afternoons on the pontoon, traveling, collecting bears, homemaking, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen (Greg) Hill of Morris, IL and Kristie (Jeff) Griffiths of Braidwood; three sons, Kelly Bock of Wichita, KS, Keith Bock of Grandview, MO and Kirby (Elizabeth) Bock of Lee's Summit, MO; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers, Daniel Novy of Coal City, IL, Harvey (Betty) Novy of Wilmington, Robert (Alberta) Novy of Carbon Hill, Rodger Novy of Braidwood and William (Dolores) Novy of Gardner, IL; two sisters, Lillian Honiotes of Shorewood, IL and Virginia Lincheski of Carbon Hill; numerous nieces and nephews; and her "lake family".
Preceding her in death on February 9, 2007 was her beloved husband of 55 years, Phillip C. Bock, whom she married July 8, 1951. Also preceding her in death were a son, Kevin and sister, Elvina Mecum.
Funeral services will be at R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, Tuesday, April 3, at 11 AM with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. The visitation will be Monday, April 2, from 3-8 PM. Cremation rites will follow. Inurnment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association, Joliet Area Community Hospice, or Walnut Grove Retirement Home would be appreciated.
