Bettie Nell Rhyne, 81, of Concord passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Brian Center in Concord. Bettie was born on January 13, 1933 in Iredell County, the daughter of John Robert and Mary Helen Riddle Rhyne.
Bettie was a 1951 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School in Kannapolis. Bettie worked for Cannon Mills, and later in life for Christian Community Services assisting seniors with transportation and daily tasks.
Bettie was a member of Concord First Assembly, at one time active in the Choir and the Senior Ministry. She was a resident of First Assembly Living Center for 14 years.
In addition to her parents, Bettie is preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth “Johnny” Rhyne.
Bettie is survived by her children, Joel Helton Jr. and wife Kay of Mooresville; and Sheri Helton Pressley and husband Dennis of Concord. Grandchildren, Meredith Wolfe, Enid Valu, April Helton and Matthew Helton; and great granddaughters, Anna and Mia Wolfe.
There will be a Memorial Service at Concord First Assembly on Saturday, November 1st at 3:00 PM at the Village in Suite 15 (across the street from the main campus).
