Funeral services for A. L. Moreland, 77, of Merigold, were to be held at Thweatt-King Funeral Home chapel in Cleveland. Rev. Robert W. Bradley was to officiate. Burial was to follow in New Cleveland Cemetery. Thweatt-King Funeral Home had charge.

Mr. Moreland was dead on arrival on 24 February 1976 at Bolivar County Hospital in Cleveland after an apparent heart attack.

A native of Lena, Mr. Moreland graduated from Lena High School and later lived in Doddsville. In 1921 he married Ida McCain of Drew, and they moved to Merigold in 1932 where he had farming interests. Mr. Moreland was a member of the Merigold United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife of Merigold, he leaves two sons, Charles Moreland of New Orleans, La., and Jack Moreland of Merigold; a brother, Guy Moreland of Bolton; a sister, Mrs. Vera M. Alford of Baton Rouge, La.; and three grandchildren.
