1st enlistment: Co. "A" of the 15th Tennessee Infantry, on 6 Jun. 1861 (with brother, George Washington Campbell - cousin, John Wesley Patterson joined them Aug of 1861). 2nd Enlistment: Co. "C" [also known as D & E according to War Dept), Forrest's 3rd Reg TN Cav. known as McDonald's Battalion, at Middleburg, Tn. Dec 24, 1862 with brother Thomas Campbell and first cousin John Wesley Patteson for 3 years until the end of the War. Private to Corporal in 1863;
