"Carole N. Shirk, 73, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at Lancashire Hall on Friday, February 16, 2018. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Emma Bentley Zook. She was the loving wife of Gerald S. Shirk.

Carole was an avid animal lover. She was the former owner of the Dog Den in Leola. Over the years, she enjoyed showing dogs and horses.

In addition to her husband, Carole is survived by a son, Jack Shirk, of California. Also surviving is her brother Robert Zook and his wife Carol of Lancaster; and 3 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Brian Shirk, in 2000.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Carole's final resting place will be in St. Stephen Reformed Church Cemetery, New Holland.
