Father of Harmond Scott according to the 1880 and 1885 Census.

His obituary lists the year of birth as 1839. He died on Apr 12 1895 in Lake City, Calhoun Co., Iowa.

He served in the military from 10 August 1862 to 2 Oct 1862. (He was credited to Mahaska Co, but lived in Calhoun. He served in Co. C, 33rd Iowa Infantry until April 1863, rising to the rank of sixth corporal, and then, re-enlisted in Troop L, 9th Iowa Cavalry, as fifth corporal, serving one year and seven months. Although he received his discharge for disability he never received a pension. He was mustered into Lander Post #156 G.A.R. in the year 1883 and was a charter member.

He was a teamster/drayman. "During the early days of Mr. Scott's residence in Iowa he followed farming for a business and later he engaged in teaming from Lake City to Glidden, before the railroad was built to Lake City. After the completion of the railroad he engaged in the dray business and later engaged in the livery business and was so engaged a the time of his death."
