DIES OF HEART ATTACK SUNDAY
Guy Pitcher, 71, Stricken While Sitting in Lot in Fulton
FULTON- A man identified as Guy Pitcher, 71, of 408 Seneca St. died unexpectedly Sunday evening while sitting in a lot near North Second and Ontario Streets.
Floyd Trumble of 181 South Second St found Pitcher seriously ill and walked to Oneida and First streets where he notified Patrolman Charles Ottman. With Patrolman Donald Zeller, Ottman drove to the scene in a police radio car while Assistant Police Chief Fred Casey summoned Dr. G. Steinitz.
Dr. Steinitz pronounced Pitcher dead when he arrived giving a heart attack as cause of death. District Attorney James Feeney, county coroner, was notified, and with Act. Det. Karl Stewart continued an investigation. The body was released to the Spaulding morgue.
Trumble told the officials he had walked to the field early Sunday afternoon when he brought Pitcher a bottle of coffee. Sunday night Trumble said he again visited the lot when Pitcher asked him to get him a bottle of water. Trumble said when he returned with the water he found Pitcher ill.
The body has been removed to the Springer funeral home where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in North Volney cemetery.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
