William F. Ashton
William Foster Ashton, 69, died on Tuesday, May 7, at his home in Pittsfield, Mass., after a long illness. The funeral was held at his late home on Thursday and the body was taken to Bennington for burial in the family plot in Parke Memorial cemetery.**** (Park Lawn Cemetery)
Mr. Ashton was born in Cambridge, a son of David Gordon Ashton and Harriet Woodworth Ashton. When a young man he went to Bennington, Vt., where he married Miss Fannie Hewitt, who survives. Twenty-eight years ago they moved to Pittsfield, where he was an engineer in the General Electric works, retiring about eight years ago.
Besides his wife, Mr. Ashton is survived by a sister, Mrs. W.J. Arnott, and two brothers, Calvin R. Ashton and Andrew F. Ashton, all of Cambridge, and a number of nieces and nephews.
