Son of Mr. and Mrs. De Greef of Big Stone Township went to the School of Mines at Rapid City, SD, June 29, 1918 to begin his military training. After two months there he was transferred to Camp Taylor, Kentucky, assigned to the Field Artillary Replacement Depot, Battery C, 1st Regiment. He was honorably discharged here December 17, 1919.
