"The remains of Rev Alfred Rush arrived in Springfield Friday morning from Nashville where he died after a lingering illness of 2 years.
They were removed to his home near Cross Plains and were interred at Mt Carmel Church burying grounds.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. T. R. Clendenih.
Mr Rush was born in Jackson County, TN, Oct. 3 1856. He was a general Baptist preacher and was the instrument of the Lord through which many souls were brought into the fold."
He leaves his 2nd wife Margaret E Maggie Huff, their 4 boys and 5 girls; and the eldest son from his 1st marriage to Lizzie Wright.
