She retired in 1991 as an Elementary School Teacher for Lincoln Public Schools. Member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elmwood and Pacific Hills Lutheran Church in Omaha, W.I.F.E. (Woman Involved in Farm Economics) 25 years, League of Women Voters; lobbied in Washington and Lincoln for agriculture; also on the Governor Commission for water use. She drove trucks on the farm.
Jerry travled to Europe, Russia and Australia.
