Charles H. Knappenberger, 62, of 2451 S. Lumber St., Allentown, died yesterday in Allentown Hospital. He was the husband of Florence M. (Merkle) Knappenberger. Born in Weatherly, he was a son of the late Charles and Rabecca (Barell) Knappenberger. He was treasurer for the Salvation Army, Allentown.

Surviving, besides his wife, is a son, Donald C., a daughter, Margaret, wife of Frederick Strump Jr.; a brother, Harvey; a sister, Bertha, wife of Charles Mertz, all of Allentown; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Trexler Funeral Home Inc., 1625 Highland St., Allentown. Viewing will be 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
