WEST ADDISON, VT. - Alice Octavia (Tucker) Bodette, age 84, passed away on Thursday, February 8th 2018.

She was born on November 28th 1933 in Burlington, Vt., she was the daughter of Joseph A. and Mildred E. (McIntyre) Tucker.

Alice grew up on School Street in Vergennes, Vt. with her mother and her sister; Audrey, having lost her father when she was young.

She graduated from Vergennes High School and then went to work for Simmonds Precision in Vergennes, Vt.

She married Raymond "Bud" Howard Bodette Jr. on May 15th 1954 in Vergennes, Vermont.

She moved with him to Georgia while he was in the Army.

She returned to Vergennes, Vt. to live with her mother while Bud served in Korea and gave birth to her first son while he was away.

When he returned, they moved to Bud’s family farm in West Addison, Vt. and raised six sons while Farming.

She served as a lister for the town of Addison, Vt.

She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years; Raymond Bodette Jr. on September 8th 2016, two sons; David Jon Bodette on September 30th 2016 and Daniel "Dan" Mark Bodette on October 29th 1981, her parents; her father Joseph Tucker on October 25th 1940 and her mother Mildred Tucker on February 22nd 1982, one sister; Audrey E. (Tucker) Looby on December 30th 2006,and many close friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 15th 2018 at 10 a.m. at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes.

Arrangements by the Brown-McClay Funeral Home on 48 South Maple Street in Vergennes, Vt.

Interment will be at the Lake View Cemetery in West Addison, Vt. in the spring.
