Sarah Disbrow married George Anderson in 1804, (location unknown), probably in Fairfield County, Connecticut. They immediately moved to Mason County, Kentucky, a beautiful village in Northern Kentucky on the Ohio River bordering Ohio, Mason County was actually pretty well settled by this early date - population in 1790 was 2,729, population in 1800 and 1810 was about 12,000, population in 2010 was 17,099.
Sarah and George did not pick this community at random. Amazingly, George's parents, Ely and Achsah Anderson, had been living in Mason County for eight years at the time of their son's marriage, having moved from Trenton, New Jersey in 1796. Their farm was four miles east of Mays Lick. George's family and his father's family are listed, one after the other, in the 1810 census in Mason County, Kentucky.
Sarah and her husband had at least 10 children, all born in Mason County, Kentucky. Her husband died in 1832 and Sarah did not remarry.
Sometime between her husband"s death and 1840, she migrated with her children to Clay County, Missouri (Achsah, Joseph, Elias, and Isabel, at least). In 1840, she was living with a male 20-29 years old (almost certainly son Joseph, who was not married) and son Henry. In 1850, she was living with son Elias and his wife and children, and was probably living with them at her death in 1858.
Sarah Disbrow Anderson is buried at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Kearney, Clay County, Missouri.
