This Sarah Carman (Carmon) has often been confused as being the same as two other Sarah Carman's who all lived in Crawford County at the same time. Frazier Carman's first wife was Sarah, whose maiden name has not been proven yet but, she was born in 1791 in New York. She died in 1851 and is buried in this Greendale Cemetery. Several years after she died, Frazier Carman married another Sarah Yorty Dickson, the widow of William Dickson. Someone has mistakenly added this photo of Frazier's first Sarah Carman to the third Sarah Carman who was born in 1825 and was the daughter of Samuel Carman and his wife Francis. The posted information from the 1850 Census is correct and shows the family of Sarah number three. The photo of the headstone is the one for Frazier Carman's Sarah b. 1791. d. 1851. I hope this removes som of the confusion. If anyone knows how to remove the wrong photo from this memorial, i would be pleased to know how to remove it. (GES)
