Joyce LaNell Owens Braxier, 83 of Corsicana, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in Corsicana. She was born March 30, 1934 in Purdon to Johnnie Louis Owens and Hattie Ida Wilcox Owens. Joyce graduated from Purdon High School in 1948 and was a member of Purdon Baptist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed playing the piano years ago. She also enjoyed cooking, working puzzle books.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clevy Reed; husband Bill Braxmier; parents; daughter Gayla Ann Reed.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, children, Ginger Kay Reed Edwards and husband Mark, Robert Owen Reed and wife Melanie, Toby Glenn Reed and wife Cindi, Wanda Susan Reed Flores and husband Ernest. Nine grandchildren, Megan Murphy and husband Dustin, Myles McKinney, Joe Reed and wife Elizabeth, Michael Reed, Benjamin Reed and wife Julie, Stephen Reed and wife Stephanie, Dani Morelan, Sara Afshin, Cameron Afshin. Eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, February 9, 2018 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Younger Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Myles McKinney, Joe Reed, Michael Reed, Benjamin Reed, Stephen Reed and Dustin Murphy.
