Gerald G. Brodbeck , age 87, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

Gerald was born on January 21, 1931, in Marseilles, to Walter R. and Anna L. (Sutton) Brodbeck. In 1948, he married Lorraine Sampson of Marseilles who preceded him in death in 2007.

He joined the United States Army in 1949.

Gerald owned and operated Central Heating and Air until his retirement in 1981. He and Lorraine enjoyed their fishing trips to Canada. After his wife past away, he would spend his mornings opening the Four Royals Restaurant.

He is survived by one daughter, Laura (Kent) Hougas of Marseilles; one son, John (Carole) of Streator; eight grandchildren, Carole Ann Reh, Dawn Trompeter, Bradley Hougas, Michael and Tony Krause, Jodi Brodbeck, Jeff and Jared Brodbeck; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine; his brother, Richard in infancy; daughter, Lana Krause, and his son, Gerald W. Brodbeck.
