Lila Hill Laing, 96, of Salem, passed away Monday, April 27, 1998.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lehman Laing; a daughter, Lillian Davis Laing; a son, Walt Lamar Laing, and her parents, Elder Peter E. and Nannie Hill.

Survivors are three daughters, one son and spouses, Lauretta Wimmer Gobeli of Salem, Margaret L. Peters of Ashland, Warren C. and Angie J. Laing of Roanoke and Norma L. and Hal Kanoy of Williamsburg. She also has 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, with the Rev. Wayne W. McCauley officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's South Chapel. The family requests that memorials be made to First Christian Church, 912 Front AVenue, Salem.
