He was born Nov. 17, 1945, in Pottsville, a son of the late John W. Sr. and Alice Whiteman Kline.
He was a 1963 graduate of Pottsville High School and was employed by PP&L for 41 years prior to retiring in 2010. He was an Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam War where he was assigned to the Strategic Air Command 804th Communications Squadron. Bill was a member of BPOE Lodge 384, Ashland, and was a life member of Citizen Hose Fire Company, Palo Alto.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Haslam, Carol Miller and Marion Doyle; two brothers, John W. Kline Jr. and Robert Kline.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years on Aug. 15, 2017, Jeanie Mirabello Kline, Pottsville; two sons, William J. Kline Jr., and his wife, Colleen, Moscow, and Francis Kline, Pottsville; three grandchildren, William J. Kline III, Kelsey Kline and Justin Kline; nieces and nephews.
Memorial service celebrating Bill's life will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 24 at Freedom in Christ Church, 1850 First Ave, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from noon to 2 p.m. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Freedom in Christ Church, 1850 First Ave, Pottsville, PA 17901 or Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076. Interment with military honors will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
