CARL COHORN, age 81, of Saltwell Road, in Carlisle, Kentucky, died Friday, October 31, 2008, at the Hospice Care Center, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Scott County, Kentucky, on September 2, 1927, to the late Bennie and Mary Kate Wise Cohorn, he was a retired IBM employee, school bus driver for the Nicholas County Board of Education, former Nicholas County magistrate and farmer. He has been a member of the Church of Christ for 57 years. Carl served as a song leader and treasurer of Carlisle Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother, Ewell Cohorn; a sister, Helen Barber; and a great-grandson, Gavin Cohorn. He is survived by: his wife, Louise Sensabaugh Cohorn, of Nicholas County; two daughters, Martha (Mike) Marsh, of Harrison County, and Mary Fryman, of Nicholas County; a son, Mike (Pat) Cohorn, of Nicholas County; two sisters, Clara (Maurice) Riddle, of Nicholasville, and Frances (Raymond) Lyons, of Nicholasville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Cohorn, of Stamping Ground.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Ware Funeral Home, in Cynthiana, by Bro. Michael Hughes. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Carlisle Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the American Cancer Society. Pallbearers will be Frank McCoy, Simon Joseph, Chuck Lawson, Donald Wayne Fryman, Jeff Mattox and Billy Gilvin.
