Albert L. Cozad, Jr., 84, of Franklin, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 25th at 8:45 a.m., surrounded by his loved ones.

Born February 27, 1933 in Franklin, he was the son of Albert L. and Mabel V. Weaver Cozad, Sr. He married the love of his life, the former Mildred Lehman on August 6, 1954 and she survives.

Mr. Cozad retired from Miller Equipment in 1997 after working in the maintenance department for more than 45 years. He also was a laborer for several local farms, and also worked at one time for the Coca Cola Company.

Albert was a member of the Victory Heights United Brethren in Christ Church, and the Victory Heights Community League. He was a 'jack-of-all trades', and was always willing to help someone. He enjoyed traveling and went to Africa on two separate occasions for Missionary work.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Cozad is survived by his son, Jeffrey L. Cozad and his wife, Tammy, of Knox; his daughter, Jill Alden and her husband, Robert, of Franklin; his grandchildren, Sarah DeLong and her husband, Ben, of Titusville; Samuel Alden of Franklin, Kylee Cozad of Rocky Grove, and Katie Cozad of Knox; and his 2 great-grandchildren, Emily and Alex DeLong, of Titusville.

He is additionally survived by his 5 brothers, George R. Cozad and his wife, Betty, of Franklin, Phillip D. Cozad and his wife, Ruby, of Cranberry, Michael P. Cozad and his wife, Sandy, of Seneca, William C. Cozad and his wife, Cheryl, of Hermitage, and Braden A. Cozad and his wife, Anna Marie, of Franklin; and his 2 sisters, Christine Chittester and her husband, James, of Seneca, and Karen Stimpson and her husband, Ron, of Sioux Falls, SD; and his large extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 3 sisters, Barbara J. Hunsberger, Judith Neal and Rose Mary Dunkle; and his brother, Donald Cozad.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held for Mr. Cozad at the convenience of his family. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin has been entrusted with arrangements.
