FAMILIAR FIGURE GONE
Death of Uncle Jimmie Tout After Long Illness

James Tout, more familiarly known as 'Uncle Jimmie' lies dying at the St. Francis hospital, having been unconscious since yesterday, with absolutely no hope of recovering. The attending physician did not believe last evening that Uncle Jimmie could survive the night. He is over eighty, and has been a resident of Grand Island for many years. His wife preceded him in death a few years ago, since which time he has been living alone. There are no near relatives, but distant kin have been summoned to his bedside. Mr. Tout was an old seaman and it is related of him that he was at one time "legally dead" for twenty years. As nearly as has been learned there was at one time a shipwreck, or man overboard, or some incident of that kind, when it was supposed that Tout was among the lost and some certification was made to that effect. However later Uncle Jimmie again appeared and later came to Grand Island. He was a kindly, good natured old gentleman and leaves many friends who will regret to hear of his extremity.

Later:-Mr. Tout died about noon today. The funeral will be held Tuesday.
