JOSEPH McCALL
VARNA: Joseph F. McCall, 73, of Varna died Wednesday, February 4, 1981, at his winter home in Tucson, AZ.
Born March 16, 1907, in Belleview, MO, a son of George H.
and Gertrude F. Kryer McCall, he married Ethel Hughes in 1935 in Belleview, MO. They lived there until 1957, when they moved to Varna, IL.
He and a son, Joseph, operated the McCall Insurance Agency here. He was a member of the board of directors of Rockford Mutual Insurance Company, and a member of Evans County Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company, where he served as secretary, treasurer and agent.
He was a member of Varna United Methodist Church, member and past president of Varna Rotary Club, and an honorary member of Magnolia Masonic Lodge.
Mr. McCall also was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Belleview, MO, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Scottish Rite and York Rite and Order of Eastern Star, where he served as past patron. He also was past master of the Blue Lodge.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Florence) Peterson of Varna; two sons, Joseph II of Varna and James of Cambridge, MA; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Franke and Mrs. Lorna Parrett, both of St. Louis; and one brother, George H. McCall of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
One brother preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in Varna United Methodist Church, the Rev. K. J. McNemee officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Cemetery, east of Varna, IL.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today in Lenz Memorial Home, Lacon, and from noon tomorrow until time of services at the church. Magnolia Lodge will conduct services at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
