Joseph Sagace, 88, passed away peacefully at Cortland Acres on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.

He was born in Thomas, WV on November 9, 1929.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Teresa Sagace; four sisters – Rose Sagace Greco, Phyllis Sagace Heston, Louise Sagace Smith, Mary Sagace Baltimore; and five brothers – Sam, Fred, John, Frank, and Patsy.

He is survived by one daughter, Dee Sagace-Michel, and will be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Mr. Sagace graduated from Thomas High School in 1948, and proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force.

He worked for many years with the WV State Road Commission.

He was an avid sports enthusiast and amateur photographer.

Many of his panographic pictures of Thomas have been published in local, county and State history books and magazines.

A memorial service will be held at Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis, WV at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions In lieu of flowers may be made to Cortland Acres Foundation, 39 Cortland Acres Lane, Thomas, WV 26292 or to Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Thomas Catholic Church, 316 Brown Street, Thomas, WV 26292.
