"Casmer C. Fitch age 86 of Canton, Ohio , a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, who was content and loved life to the fullest, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning. He was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on April 20, 1917 to Benjamin and Anna Fitch. Casmer was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton and the AARP Canton Chapter. He was a veteran of World War Two serving in the U.S. Army and was a retired employee of the Portec Co. in Canton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Helen Fitch who passed away January 2, 2003, also by a son, Leonard Fitch in 2003, granddaughter, Heidi Patterson, sisters, Jenny Getz and Agnes Goddard and a brother, Stanley Fitch.
He is survived by daughter-in-law... daughters... One brother, Alfred Fitch (Mary) of Lisbon, OH. There are eleven grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 A.M. in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Sommer, as celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home on Thursday 4-7 p.m."
