Our dear, sweet, feisty mother, Allee Poulsen, finished her earthly experience at age eighty-seven and passed on to the next life on January 26, 2018.

She was named after her grandmother, but went by the name of Allee. She was born to Harrison and Esther Woodbury on January 20, 1931 in Granger (now West Valley City). Allee was born in the old family farmhouse where she lived almost her entire life. She learned well the lessons from growing up in a farming family of nine children during the Great Depression and World War II.

Allee married the love of her life, Marion Monson, on October 17, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. They worked hard to support their family of four children, and they had just completed their joint goal for Marion to graduate with his bachelor's and master's degrees in business when Marion died suddenly of a heart attack on October 7, 1964. Not deterred by this adversity, Allee forged ahead with great courage and determination, and she later met and then married Ernest Keith Poulsen on March 25, 1966.

Allee and Keith had thirty-one eventful years together, and they took on the challenges of a blended family of eight children (Keith's four daughters and Allee's four children). Allee and Keith enjoyed many fun trips together as well as time spent with friends and family. Keith died of cancer on July 11, 1997.

Raymond Henry Ross came into Allee's life five years later, and she and Ray were married on May 4, 2002. Allee loved Ray's family, and Ray was a tender caregiver for Allee during the early stages of her memory loss. Ray died of cancer on September 19, 2016. Were it not for her declining health, we have no doubt Allee would have been on the lookout for husband number four.

Allee was a faithful member of the LDS Church, and she passed on her strong faith to her posterity. She attended LDS Business College, and used the skills she learned there in her work for Mountain Bell, Winder Dairy, and Granite School District. Allee was a talented quilter, and she volunteered for over thirty years with the Cottonwood Hospital Auxiliary quilting group. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, hot dog roasts with her family in the backyard, spending time with close friends, and traveling, especially to Hawaii (but only if it was a bargain trip).

Allee was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings, Marjorie, Ruth, Velma, Leo, Elbert, Dorothy and Duane; and husbands, Marion, Keith, and Ray. She is survived by her sister, Arlene Schrock, of Okemos, Michigan; four children, Linda (Timothy) Durrant of Payson, Douglas (Lisa) Monson of Bountiful, Dean (Leslee) Monson of West Valley City, and Elaine Monson of Holladay; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; Keith's daughters, Rhonda, LeAnn, Shanna, and Marlene; and Ray's children, Ray, Mary, Brad, Laura, and Jeff.

We gratefully acknowledge the tender care she received at Sunridge Assisted Living and Memory Care the last seventeen months.

In lieu of flowers, she would suggest that you save your money and give your loved ones a hug instead.

The funeral services for Allee will be on Saturday, February 3, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at the Taylorsville Twenty-Fifth Ward Chapel, 4505 South Brians Way (3420 West), West Valley City, where viewings will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and prior to the services on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Interment will be in the Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South in West Valley City.
