Cleveland Watts, 55, retired textile worker of Lexington, died at his home at 11 a.m. Wednesday after a long period of declining health. He was born in Lexington County, son of the late Jacob B. and Jency Lucas Watts, and was a member of the First Baptist Church (Sandy Run) at Gaston. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Christie Jeffcoat Watts of Lexington; eight daughters, Mrs. Paul Keisler, Mrs. Jack Anderson, Miss Swansea Watts, Miss Landis Watts, Miss Iris Watts, Miss Cathy Watts, Miss Josie Watts and Miss Loy Watts, all of Lexington; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie O'Brien of Pelion, and Mrs. Ida Spires and Mrs. Katie B. (Box) Lowman, both of Lexington; two brothers G. W. Watts of Columbia and L. A. Watts of Lexington; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday from the First Baptist Church of Gaston by the Rev. H. K. Alban. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
