She was born November 1, 1916 in Wapato, Washington to Charles and Amy (Long) Poisel. Phronie attended Wapato and White Swan schools and also Yakima Valley Community College. She married Merle Crowell on February 14, 1938 in Brownstown, WA.
Phronie worked as a patient representative in the insurance department of Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital for many years. She was also a housewife and homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Merle Crowell of Yakima; a daughter, Jan Bickerstaff of Yakima; two sons, Chuck Crowell and Bob Crowell, both of Yakima; seven grandchildren; a sister, Fern Thornton of Centralia, WA; a brother, Ted Poisel of Wapato; several nieces and nephews with whom she had a loving relationship and her special friends, Cal & Sharon Crowell.
