Richard Austin Hunt Sr., 60, of 529 S. Azalea Road, Petersburg, Va., formerly of Peoria, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, in Petersburg.
Born Oct. 21, 1938, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Frank and Doris Maxine Smith Hunt, he married Ann Shoudel on Aug. 18, 1962, in Frankfurt, Germany. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Richard Jr. of Pekin and Donnie, Richie and Billie, all of Petersburg; two daughters, Rhonda Davidson of Goldendale, Wash., and Janie Hunt of Petersburg; four sisters, Mrs. Gary (Sharon) Walker of Peoria, Mrs. William (Diane) Sparks of Chillicothe, Mrs. Milt (Jean) Christenson of Royal, Iowa, and Mrs. Lin (Donna) Ashline of Portage, Ind.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He retired from the Army after 22 years of service. He worked at Petersburg Ford in Petersburg for 12 years.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bradford United Methodist Church in Petersburg. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded by the Cremation Society of Richmond, Va.
