Ron was born March 11, 1933, in Parsons, Kan., son of the late Claude and Wilma Crosser Lentz. He grew up and attended school in St. Paul, Kan. He worked in sales for several years before beginning his career as a buyer of lumber for different furniture companies including La-Z-Boy, before retiring from Mid-West Furniture, of Webb City, in 1999.
He enjoyed golfing, and was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed spending time with coach Whitey Herzog. Each July his family would have a family reunion that Ron enjoyed very much. He enjoyed spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard and Glenn Aronhalt; and sisters, Leona Glenn and Louise Olson.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Drennan Aronhalt; children, Kevin Aronhalt and wife, Diana, of Hiram, Ga., Celeste Qualls and husband, Bill, of Joplin, Dale Whitehill and wife, Sheri, of Joplin, Scott Whitehill, of Joplin, and Andy Whitehill and wife, Amie, of Miami, Okla.; 10 grandchildren, Kevin Eugene, Ashley, Parker, Halie, Jessica, Ian, Erin, Alexa, Isaac, and Abby; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Sunday, Feb. 4, at 3 p.m., in Parker Mortuary Chapel, with his son, Rev. Kevin Aronhalt, officiating.
The family would like thank the staff of The Communities of Wildwood for the wonderful care they gave to Ron, and also the staff of Three Rivers Hospice.
The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson's Association.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
