Funeral services for James William Shiel, 52 years old, veteran Kane county farmer who died suddenly yesterday will be held from Norris chapel Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock, burial following in Udina cemetery.
Born in Beatrice Neb., August 7, 1877, Mr. Shiel had resided in the Elgin region the greater portion of his life. For many years he was a contractor and builder in this city. Eighteen years ago he started farming in Plato township near McQueen Station where he had since continuously resided.
He was married to Miss Fannie Robinson on April 27, 1910 and besides the widow is survived by a sister, Irene, residing on the west coast, and a cousin, Walter Davis of Algonquin."
