Ives worked at Terrebonne General hospital for 40 years.

As a young boy age 14 he had a hunting accident and shot off his left hand .This did not stop him from winning lawn awards at Terrebonne General Hospital in Houma Louisiana. .He won Garden of the month and other awards for his lawn care there.

He enjoyed making a garden at home and sharing his crop with the neighbors and friends.

Ives Joseph "Effie" BABIN was born September 6,1916 in Houma, Terrebonne Parish, LA;, and died 17 JUN 1991 in Houma, Terrebonne Parish, LA; ; age 74. He was buried in Gray in Terrebonne Parish, LA; Halfway Cemetery. He was the son of Paul Gilbert BABIN and Edna Helena PORCHE.

He married Rita Mae LEBOEUF and had two children Carol and Larry Babin. He really loved Carol's husband Bobby Estes. He also had four grandaughters Cherri Matherne Bihm, Sheila Babin Lirette,Tammy Matherne Pitre and Anna Babin.

He is sadly missed by his family.We love you Daddy.

As of September 6,2007 Ives has ten Great grandchildren Ashley Brignac, Nash Pitre Jr,Paul Babin, Tiffany Brignac, , Nicholas Pitre ,Micheal Trahan, Jordan Oquin, Skiler Chauvin, Julian Bihm and Nevaeh Bourg.

He has four great grandchildren Ashton Pitre, Angel Perez, Lexie Babin and Jorge Perez.

We have two mote additions to the family daddy. Tammy had a little boy Brayden born 2010 and your great grandaughter Ashley had a little girl Abbigail 2010 . They all know Pa Pa Babin AND LOVE YOU /
