Linda V. Baker, 70, of 5812 Nehemiah Way, Huntingdon, died at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at AristaCare at Huntingdon Park, Huntingdon.
Born May 16, 1947, she was the daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Grove) Varner. She was united in marriage to Donald Baker July 12, 1969, at Trinity United Church of Christ, McConnellstown. Mr. Baker preceded her in death May 2, 2010.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her daughter, Crystal Baker of Huntingdon; and a brother, Lee Varner of Hesston.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Barry Varner, who died at 2 months of age, and Larry Varner, who was killed in a car accident in 2007.
Mrs. Baker was a member of the Oasis of Love Church in McConnellstown.
She was a 1965 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School.
Mrs. Baker started working as a payroll clerk at the former Mead Products in Alexandria April 8, 1968. She retired in 1999. Prior to that time, Mrs. Baker worked as a secretary for the late Morris Terrizzi for approximately a year.
She enjoyed flowers, gardeni n g , watching and feeding birds and reading. Mrs. Baker was a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County and had lived at her current residence since 2010. She was formerly a resident of Calvin.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life service at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at the Oasis of Love Church, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Art Speck officiating. Private family interment will be made at a later date in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Walker Township.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cutright Funeral Homes — Smithfield Chapel, 313 Fairgrounds Road, Huntingdon.
