William H. Bruce, 67, Dies After Operation

William H. Bruce, 510 Houston Street, died at local hospital at 2:30 p.m. yesterday following an operation earlier in the day. He had been in the hospital for about a week.

Mr. Bruce celebrated his 67th birthday last Sunday. He was born at Prairie Bluff, April 9, 1872. For 33 years he held a position in the Montgomery Postoffice, retiring several years ago. Mr.

Bruce graduated from Auburn in electrical engineering. His father, John Bruce, was Federal judge here for many years. For many years he was an active member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, serving as a member of the board of elders. He was also teacher of the Woman's Bible Class of the Trinity Sunday School, and an active member of the Business Men's Evangelistic Club of the city. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Martha Bruce, Montgomery, and Mrs. R. B. Lourle, of Moline, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday from the residence.
