Funeral Services for Freda N. Cooley, age 90, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018, will be held Monday, January 29, 2018, at 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3021 Woods Road, Picayune, MS. Burial will follow in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home
Visitation will be Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home, 401 West Canal Street, Picayune, MS 39466.
Rev. Lisa Pridmore will officiate the service.
A native of Picayune, MS, she was a retired teacher in the Picayune School District, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Sigma Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma, a Life Member of Retired Education Personnel of Pearl River County, Friends of the Library, formerly The Garden Club of Picayune, and a member of the Crosby Arboretum. Freda was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Madison Neal and Bertte Frances Brett Neal; her husband, Pete Cooley; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cooley Pilgrim; her son, Raymond Douglas Cooley; her grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Lott and Jessica Lane Lott; her brother and sister-in-law, John Ervin and Estelle Neal; and her sister, Martha Neal Flanagan.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Claire Lott Barnes and husband Terry, and Stanley Cooley and wife Lisa: her 2 grandchildren, Jeremy Lott and James Pilgrim; her great grandson, Elijah Jeremy Lott; and her loving nieces and nephews.
