Mr. Edward “Grizz” Adams, 58, of Coats, formerly of Lillington passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017. He was born in Cumberland County, the son of the late Edward O. Adams, Sr. and Dorothy Arnold Adams. Mr. Adams was also preceded in death by his brother, Edwin John Adams. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Grenada Conflict. Mr. Adams worked for NCDOT for over 30 years and also worked at Harnett County Landfill for over 20 years. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend to all.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jackson Adams of the home; brother, Earl Adams and wife Rebekah of Lillington; 3 nephews, Earl Adams, Jr., Edwin John Adams and Michael Edward Adams; niece, Kelli Tyndall and fiancé Travis Matthews; sister-in-law, Billie Jo and husband Joseph Tyndall; great-nephew, Mason Royal Matthews, father-in-law, Billy Jackson and mother-in-law, Hilda Lucas.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 23, 2017 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel with Rev. Randy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park.
