Veteran of World War II. Chief Electrician's Mate, United States Navy. Served aboard the USS Perch (SS-176). Captured by the Japanese after the crew was forced to scuttle the Perch after suffering severe damage. Edwards died while a prisoner of war in the Makassar Prisoner of War Camp, Celebes, Indonesia.
