The remains of Mr. Robert H. Archer, whose death has been announced, were brought from Washington to Baltimore yesterday for interment at Greenmount Cemetery, under the superintendence of Mr. John D. Stewart. The body was conveyed from Camden station to St. Paul's P. E. Church, at 4 1/2 P.M., and the services were conducted by Rev. J. S. B. Hodges. A number of his relations from Harford county and Ellicott City were present. His oldest son, William Archer, came on from Mississippi. The pall-bearers were ex-Governor T. Watkins Ligon, Major Peters, Richard S. Gittings, John W. Dorsey, Henry Wootton and Jas. Mackuble. Mr. Arched was a graduate of West Point Military Academy, and was well known as an educator in this state. He was a lieutenant in the United States army and was engaged in the Seminole war in Florida, where his company was decimated by malarial fever, leaving Mr. Archer and three others as the only survivors of the company to which they belonged. On his recovery he resigned his commission and entered on his career as a teacher, in which he was distinguished.
