Sharon Marie Housel, age 59, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon fought a courageous 31 year battle against Lupus.
Sharon was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, where she graduated from Highland High School; and was a self-trained bookkeeper.
She had a giving heart and used her bookkeeping skills working for Non-profit organizations, including The Society for Pediatric Research and New Day Shelters.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Evangeline Griego;
brother, Ron Griego; and grandniece, Taygen Griego.
Sharon is survived by her loving father, Leopoldo "Leo" Griego; her nephews, Matthew Griego and Brandon Griego (Virginia); her grandnieces, Kaitlynn, Lilly, Copelin; and grandnephew, Collin.
Also surviving are her honorary -sister, Carolyn Acree, her best friends, Barb Kepsel and Mauro Montoya; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sharon will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.
Sharon had a great fondness for all animals but cats held her heart. Danny and Clair were her last two cats that she loved for 16 years.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers Memorial contributions in Sharon's name may be made to the Animal Humane-Albuquerque.
