Dexter Statesman, Dexter, MO. June 1, 1951 COLE BRYDON PASSES AWAY AT BLOOMFIELD Cole Brydon of Bloomfield passed away about 2 a. m. Thursday at his home in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Baptist Church in Bloomfield with interment in Harper Cemetery. He left to mourn his death three sons and one daughter, Hubert of Colorado, Arthur of Bourbon, Mo., Chester T. Louis and the daughter Mrs. Opal Plat of Frank Clay, Mo. Also four brothers, Doc Brydon of Bloomfield, H__ of Kennett and Dave and Wes Brydon of Arbyrd.


June 1951: Franklin Coleman Brydon dies at age 88. He was the first rural route mail carrier in Stoddard County, delivering mail by horse and buggy out of Dexter in the early 1900's.
