Nancy Jane Rodrick was born in Clark County, Ohio October 1, 1856, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Armitage Rodrick. She was one of a large family of children, all of whom has preceded her to that undiscovered county, except two brothers and one sister. She was married to Charles F. Reynolds on Dec. 24, 1876 and he proceded her in death April 23, 1916.
To this union with Mr. Reynolds was born nine children, all of which are living except one son who died at the age of four. The others left are Will of Topeka, Kansas, John of Port Huron, Mich, George of Chauncey, Mae of Arkansas City, Kansas, Floyd and Hugh of Cedar Point Iowa, Guy of Claremount, Illinois, and Albert of the U. S. Navy now stationed at Los Angles, California, all of whom mourn the loss of a loving and attentive mother.
She was converted at an early age, as a mere child and at the time of her death and few years prior to the time, was a member of the Chauncey M. P. church. Her life was a testament to her devotion. The world is better for her having lived on it. The family she leaves behind her is one testimonial to the fact and the sorrowing friends another.
She was interred in the Chauncey cemberty beside her husband and son who had gone before.
