BOWLES, Mary Edna, 93, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 26, 2002. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years where she served as a Sunday School teacher and greeter. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Bowles, Sr. and a sister, Grace Bowles. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Lynda B. and Allen Hagee of Vinton; a son and daughter-in-law, J.T., Jr. and Marion Bowles of Vinton; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Lynch and Ethel Dunman, both of Roanoke, Estelle Cassidy of Sandy Level and Angie Horsley of Penhook. Funeral services will be conducted from the First Church of the Nazarene 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2002 with the Rev. Randy Ledsome, the Rev. James Milner and the Rev. Jim Asbury officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Flowers will be appreciated, however the family suggests memorials to the First Church of the Nazarene. The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
