He was the husband of Inga M. Andrews to whom he was married 30 years this January 14, 2018.
Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Maryland Line United Methodist Church, 21500 York Rd., Maryland Line, MD with Rev. Dennis Schulze officiating.
Burial will follow in New Freedom Cemetery.
Born May 2, 1936, in Elkins, WV. he was the son of the late A.B. Andrews and Anna M. (Hall) Andrews.
Gene served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1958 to 1964.
He was a graduate of Elkins High School and Marshall University, where he was a star athlete at each.
Gene was a Commercial Real Estate Broker for over 40 years retiring from O'Connor Piper & Flynn in 1995.
He served as Past President of the MD Realtors Assoc. and was a Councilman with New Freedom Boro for 20 years. In 1989, he was Director of the 1st Republican Committee formed in New Freedom.
He also was a member of the New Freedom Lions Club, New Freedom Rotary Club, and a former member of Bon Air Country Club.
In addition to his wife, Inga, Gene is survived by two sons, Gene A. Andrews, Jr. and Christopher Andrews; stepdaughters, Patricia Morgan and her husband Van and Tina Marie Olson; three grandchildren, Christopher Olson, Keagan Morgan, and Camron Morgan; two great-grandchildren, Grace Anne Olson, and Reid Bentley Olson; two brothers, John, and Jim Andrews.
