Mrs. Rubie Sharp Baxter

Funeral services for Mrs. Rubie Sharp Baxter, 92, of Henderson, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Kuykendall and Rev. Frank Lane officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Baxter passed from this life on January 23, 2018, at ETMC in Henderson. She was born to the late Jim and Grace Tennison in Cherokee County on June 26, 1925. Rubie loved the Lord and tried to serve Him and she could. She started a senior citizens lunch in the community and carried the shut ins at home a plate lunch of food each time they met. Rubie loved helping them. She worked on many jobs as a seamstress and was a member of Martin's Chapel Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Ivan Sharp and Barney Baxter, twin sons Ronnie and Monte Sharp, brother Floyd "Buck" Tennison, sisters Faye Williams, Vivian Hamilton, Frances Tillison, Rose Lee Tennison, and an infant sister.

She is survived by her three sons and one daughter in law; three brothers and two sisters in law; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chase Sharp, Connor Sharp, Tanner Sharp, Coby Sharp, Bo Doss, and Blake McElroy.
