Kansas City - James Lee Vanlaningham, 38, Kansas City, died early Monday morning at Parklane Medical Center, Raytown, after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Born and raised in Springfield, Mr. Vanlaningham had attended schools here. A Baptist, he had lived in Kansas City for the past 13 years and was a mechanic with the Kansas City Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; and two daughters, Concina and Jamie, both of the home.
The body will be transferred to Springfield. Services will be announced by Ralph Thieme Funeral Home.
