Fayssoux married Elizabeth Cripps, daughter of John Splatt Cripps and Elizabeth Farr, in Charleston. James is listed as a physician, surgeon and planter in the Charleston area directories of 1806, 1807, 1809 & 1819. Dr. and Mrs. James H. Fayssoux had three known children: Mary Farr Fayssoux (Mrs. Francis Cordes Prioleau), Octavia Fayssoux (Mrs. Joseph Stewart) and Thomas Fayssoux, MD.
