Born in Vidalia, she grew up in Soperton and had lived in Atlanta for a number of years before returning to Soperton within the past 15 years. While living in Atlanta she worked for the Cherokee County School System as a school bus driver which she continued in Vidalia until retiring.
A two time Cancer survivor; Janice is preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Jerry Lord, her parents, George Mitchell and Leanna Belle Phillips Bridges, two brothers, Doyle Bridges, Curtis Phillips and two sisters, Debra Bridges and Gladys Bridges Waters.
She is survived by: three sons, Brian (Lori) Lord, Atlanta, Delton (Jamie) Lord, Soperton, David (Hattie) Lord, Atlanta, four sisters, Martha (Frank) Smith, Milledgeville, Priscilla Heyer, Soperton, Sula (Charles) Webb, Soperton, Dianne (Billy) Hester, Soperton, three brothers, Delton (Margaret) Bridges, Mitchell (Sandy) Bridges, all of Soperton, Paul (Rebecca Miller) Bridges, Uvalda, several grand and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
