William Robert Trout was born in Sharon, TN in 1911 and ran away at an early age. He became a professional wrestler during the mid-20's through the 1950's. During his career he held several titles from across the United States. He was the National Wrestling Alliance - Three time World Light Heavyweight Champion. Two of those titles came in 1945 and the last in 1947. The last Title he held was the NWA Southwest Junior Heavyweight Champion out of Amarillo, Texas. He wrestled under the names of "Dick Trout" and "Sailor Trout" all across the United States spending a lot of time on the West Coast. William R. Trout was also a veteran of WWII.
